3/6/2022 0 Comments How I got started in politicsIt all started over 30 years ago in December 1991, when I walked out of a movie theatre in Clearwater Florida after just having watched the movie JFK. I remember my whole body shaking while a singular thought filled my troubled mind... “If any of this movie is true then America is not the country I thought it was.” Prior to this seminal moment I had been “blissfully” sleeping in the traditional American Dream narrative for nearly 30 years. However, the “truth-paste” could not be put back into the collective subconscious container from which it burst out into my consciousness in that particularly memorable moment. The murder of a president is definitely not a partisan issue and should concern every patriotic American. I believe every American should watch the infamous "Zapruder" film which shows us what happened to our 35th president at 12:30 central time on that tragic cool sunny day of November 22, 1963. The reason all should watch this short film clip is because it shows clearly that our president was slammed backward from the force of a bullet which stuck him in the head and killed him instantly, and anyone who understands the most basic law of physics will know immediately that this is conclusive evidence that our president was shot from the front, and therefore, the alleged assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, who was located several hundred feet behind the presidential limousine could not possibly have fired this bullet.
Therefore, regardless of what you may believe DID happen, anyone who watches this film with an open mind will know with certainty what DID NOT happen, and therefore we can have no doubt whatsoever that what our government along with our major media told us nearly sixty years ago, and what they are still telling us now, about what happened to our president and who did it, is a blatant lie! As disturbing as the murder of a president is, it is this blatant lying that is to me the most disturbing aspect of the assassination of president John F. Kennedy. I thought about whether I should share my JFK story in a blog which is focused on chronicling my very first political campaign. While I do not want this blog to become a forum for speculation about who may have murdered our 35th president and why, this seminal event is still so relevant today because not only did our government and major media lie to us in a huge way some sixty years ago, but they are still lying to us about this and many other important matters today, while they allow, and in many ways facilitate, the destruction of our great country! This story also gives the voters in Georgia a good sense for why I have decided to become a legislator; not because I want to be a politician, since I never aspired to be part of what to me has always seemed a very corrupt and corrupting profession, but rather because I am fed up with the blatant lies and deception as well as the growing trend of anarchy and tyranny in America, and I feel that I am especially qualified to do something positive to change things in America, by restoring adherence to our great Declaration of Independence and US Constitution in our home state of Georgia. By the year 1991, and for many years afterward, I would have described myself politically as a social liberal and fiscal conservative, not really able to fit into either a BLUE or RED box. But nowadays it is clear to me that many democrats have become far too liberal for my taste to identify with their politics at all. But then again, I could say the same about the so-called republicans in name only (RINOs). Therefore, I can now say with understanding and pride that I am and have always been a patriotic constitutional republican. While I delved into the untold political history of America for many years since JFK, I hardly had the time or energy to become politically active during the first two decades of the 21st century since I was so busy making a living as a systems professional, and raising two teenagers as a single parent. A few years before my youngest child "left the nest" so to speak, I started having dreams about the political and economic systems which make up the American system. While it was not surprising to me that I would dream about systems, me being a systems professional and all, but what was surprising was how vivid these dreams were and how well I remembered them after waking up. Being curious, I did some research into the topics I had been dreaming about, only to find that my dreams were revealing many detailed aspects of the history of the American political economy that turned out to be true history that I did not know before! Or did I... after all, these were my dreams! But American political science was not the only passion I had at the time. I also had a strong passion for systems science ever since my college days, and by then my passion for spiritual science was blossoming to become the greatest of the three. I often wondered why I had these three particular separate passions, with little else able to hold my attention long before I would relate everything else to these three great interests. Then one day soon before my youngest child "left the nest," I had a great epiphany - my three strong passions were not separate at all, but rather they were merely three aspects of one great passion, namely my passion to restore the American Dream! Upon a spiritual foundation I was building my understanding of the American political system, how it started out, and how it has changed, and what is needed in terms of system changes in order to fulfill the highest potential of the American Dream. However, this epiphany did not translate into any ambition to become a politician. Rather my first effort at helping my country was as a writer. I took what I thought would be a "sabbatical" from my career, to write a manuscript about what is needed in order to heal as a nation. I worked on this manuscript in virtual solitude for about four years before the 2020 COVID crisis hit. This crisis aggravated the pain I already felt for my suffering country, but I pushed on to finish my manuscript by the end of the year 2020. At this point my "sabbatical" morphed into my official retirement from software development. I decided to devote all my energies to saving my country from ruin. In January of 2021, after my manuscript was complete and my ideas solidified in my mind, I began to reach out to the world-at-large again in order to build a following of like-minded individuals for my ideas about how we can deal with our major political problems from a spiritual and systems perspective. And as I met more and more people, and joined more and more groups during 2021, by the end of the year I had metamorphosized into a true political activist. Perhaps the most significant action I took in my new role of political activist started with my researching the law regarding possible legal protections from the newly emerging threat against the tradition of "informed consent" associated with the attempt of our federal government to compel medical mandates on We the People against our own will. Not finding anything in the Georgia Code to adequately protect our fundamental right to choose for ourselves in all matters medical, I volunteered to attempt to write a bill proposal when the opportunity presented itself during a meeting of concerned citizens. Like in so many situations I had faced as a systems professional, I had never before done what I had just volunteered to do... in this case, write a legislative bill. After two weeks of intense research and writing, I re-emerged with the best legislative proposal to secure our unalienable Right of Medical Freedom that I could conceive. Running out of time while printing copies just minutes before our next team meeting was scheduled to start, my printer ran out of ink and I had no replacement ink at home. So when I arrived late and made eye contact with the first person I encountered on our team, who was eager to find out if I had written the "bill” yet, the first words that came out of my mouth were, "my printer ran out of ink." After noticing the look of disappointment in his face, I added the grace-saving words "but I managed to print a few copies before running out of ink!" This day marked the beginning of my newly discovered legislative talent. Everybody was completely blown away by my proposal. We discussed and analyzed the “bill” while I took notes. There was great excitement in the air! In the end there were only a few small changes that were needed. Once these changes were made we presented the proposal to the larger group - and they loved it. We then switched gears to try to get this proposal into the hands of a real legislator to be introduced in the next legislative session. While we received tremendous support and encouragement from other freedom-loving citizens and various professional lobbying groups, no legislator we contacted would dare to introduce such a powerful bill to protect our Right of Medical Freedom in the State of Georgia. Hmmm... why not? Is it not their job to secure our Rights? Several months later, after helping several candidates in their successful campaigns to get elected to local office, while walking down the steps of Roswell City Hall with one of them, I was asked by my new friend to run for state representative in my district. I just laughed at the idea, responding: "I can't run for office. I have no money, and no name recognition." I was told by my new friend, "No problem... you would be great at this, and we need people like you" or something to that effect. I left this meeting thinking to myself... "no way... what a silly idea!" However, after considering the idea in solitude for a few days it occurred to me that if I were a real legislator, then I could introduce all kinds of freedom bills to turn things around politically in Georgia! I have always believed and continue to believe in liberty and justice for all. And I believe that the key to realizing liberty AND justice is maintaining the proper limitation of government. And I believe that our United States Constitution is the best approximation to perfect government that has ever been put into effect by mankind. And this my fellow Georgians, is how I got started in politics... please share your thoughts... thanks.

AuthorMy name is Michael Gordon. I first moved to Georgia in 1995, building a new home in Alpharetta, and relocating to Roswell in 2000, where I now live with my fiancé Cindy and our two adorable cock-a-poo girls. I am running for Georgia House of Representatives district 49, which after the 2021 redistricting includes the northern half of Roswell, the western part of Alpharetta, and the southernmost precinct of Milton. This BLOG will chronicle my campaign experience as well as provide a way for voters to engage with me in a public discussion of the issues we all care about in Georgia. Welcome, thank you, be nice, and enjoy 😊 ArchivesCategories |
